About CIC

Design Innovation Centre

Introduction of various innovative schemes by MHRD and National Innovation Council inspired the University of Delhi to launch the first academic Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) of the country on 3rd September 2011.

CIC now provides a platform to University of Delhi and all its partners to forge mutually beneficial linkages to initiate and assist innovation activities and act as a catalyst and facilitator. Its primary objective is to create an ecosystem that connects and facilitates various stakeholders on all aspects of the innovation process including training and support. By promoting innovation, channelling various incentives that benefit the cluster, CIC acts as an incubating body managing the growth of innovation in this ecosystem.

It is hoped that CIC will act as a hub for Innovation activities facilitating and guiding development of ideas into innovative applications that can benefit society directly or can be marketed successfully.

Therefore, setting up a Design Innovation Centre in University of Delhi will be ideal and will fulfil an integral requirement of this ecosystem.

Design Innovation Centre at University of Delhi will focus on the following areas of design innovations and processes. The associated labs are also mentioned.

The facilities of Design Innovation Centre will be open to all undergraduate and post-graduate students of the University. This Design Innovation Centre will offer:

  • Facilities for complete planning and implementation cycle for design innovation.
  • Undergraduate and post-graduate degree programs in Design Innovation.
  • Provide opportunity for new innovation projects to the students of the existing B.Tech. Innovation in Mathematics & IT programme at C I C, and to other innovative courses to be started at CIC.
